Woah.. A little break, sorry about that.

I have been working on the YLE a new 4Frnt Signature series ski which will be Wiley Miller’s pro-model ski. It is turning out really well and I have been having a whole lot of fun skiing on them the last few days. Check out this little video that I made of the construction of one of the prototypes:

In other news, check out this music festival thing that I just came across, it is 100% bike powered, and granted it’s tiny, but it is a good idea..

Wh-Y Couloir?

The other day after a few other days of 6 o’clock wake ups Matt Sterbenz, Keith Carlsen, and Myself decided to climb up Y couloir in Little cottonwood canyon, which for those of you who don’t know where that is, it is about half way to Snowbird on the way up the canyon, and it is about 3000 feet of no less than 40 degree slopes, in a couloir that is never wider than about 100 feet, so in short it’s not to be taken lightly. We decided that in the interest of making it to the top before the warm snow got too dangerous we would try to be hiking by 7:30, and out of there not too long after noon, which worked out pretty well except that it took longer than we had expected it to since we were shooting photos. Keith was carrying the camera pack, which kept him in the back of the pack where he got hit by some heavy hot sluff like a rolling bag-o-bricks, but came out alright.
Here are some of the photos that I took on my camera. The photos that Keith took will be seen in next years magazines as our 4Frnt MSP ad. Enjoy!

What a weekend!

I had a great weekend with a good foot of fresh in Utah followed by two sunny days. On saturday I went out with two filmers, Photographer Stan Evans, fellow 4Frnt Athlete Wiley Miller, and 4F Mob Boss Matt Sterbenz with the goal of getting photos for my, Matt’s, and Wiley’s 4Frnt magazine ads for next season. We took a long walk starting at Alta and ending after sunset at Brighton exhausted and happy, having gotten a bag full ‘o shots and a bunch of fun jumps in. The next morning was a little slower with no need to try to get out to any freshies first, but Matt and I did manage to crank out a 4Frnt tech talk real quick before partaking in the inagural Alta game of snowshoes (horseshoes in snow.) I’ll have some video up in the next couple of days. Until then, thanks for reading.
